2. Developed physical infrastructure and investment support services

Danang City is an important communications hub of the Central Region, Western Highlands and Vietnam. It has an international airport, deep-water seaport, north-south land routes and railways to support economic activities, investment and tourism.

2.1 - Danang Port

Danang Port is the well-equipped container port in the Central region, and one of the biggest commercial ports in Vietnam. In the past 5 years, the average growth rate of the volume of goods coming through the port was 14.3% per annum. From Danang Port, there are currently many direct international shipping lines to Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe, America and other countries in the world. Also, Danang Port is an ideal destination for tourist ships.

- Services: cargo handling, delivery/ taking delivery services, storage and warehouse services, towage, wharves services, passenger ship services, fuel supply, repairing means of transport, constructing small and medium-sized work, and other marine services.

2.2 - Danang International Airport

Danang International Airport, less than 10-minute drive from the city centre, is one of the three biggest and busiest airports in Vietnam. The three-storey terminal on a total area of 36,600m  sufficiently meets the standards of the International Aviation Transport Association and accommodates up to 12 million passengers per year.

 

Da Nang International Airport offers domestic flights to major cities in Vietnam and more than 390 monthly direct outward international flights to other Asian countries such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia and to various cities in China, and vice versa.

2.3 - Road System

The road system inside and outside the city has been continually expanded and newly built to facilitate the transportation and tourism development as well as create the avenue which to transform the appearance of the most crowded urban area in Central Vietnam.

Danang – Quang Ngai Highway- 130km long and 26m wide,is planned to be built in 2013 in order to facilitate cargo transportation and economic development in the region.

2.4 - Post and Telecommunications

Danang is an important telecommunication hub of the country and in the world. It is also one of the three most important end points of the national trunk network and the international direct connecting point. The ICT infrastructure in Danang is of large scale and up-to-date. Diverse, plentiful and high quality services are available.

Danang was ranked number one in the readiness for ICT development and adoption as reported in the Vietnam ICT Index 2009, 2010, and 2011 by the Office of Vietnam ICT Steering Committee and Vietnam Association for Information Processing.

The International Marine Optical Fiber Cable Station (SEMEWE 3) with an international transmission line of 10 Gbps linking Vietnam with nearly 40 countries in Europe and Asia is based in Danang. The ratio of telecommunication service usage in Danang is usually higher than the average national ratio.

Danang is well serviced by both national and foreign post services and other cargo and express carriers including VN Express, DHL, TNT and so on to meet customers' needs.

Danang has been developing the public wireless connection system in the whole city.

2.5 - Power and Water Supply

Power for production and domestic use in Danang is supplied from the national North-South 500KV high voltage grid.

The city's water supply works has a total existing capacity of about 205,000m3 per day. It will reach 396,300m3 per day by the year 2020 as planned.

In order to meet the development and industry needs of the city, the systems of power and water supply have been improved with the assistance of World Bank and other international organizations.

2.6 - Support services for investment

Banking, financing, insurance and logistics services are increasingly developed in Danang to meet a wide range of business ventures and investment. There are 59 banks and bank branches with 233 offices, 30 insurance companies, 14 auditing companies, and more than 172 warehousing and freight forwarding agents in Danang now.
